This silence is compelling me to listen!

Are you listening…to the voice within?

I know to listen to the voice within.

I know its how you find peace,

I know its how you find self.

Yet this listening eludes me often,

I listen…still, am I really listening?

Actually - I often listen to the other voice,

the one that leads me astray.

The voice within has a simple message.

Yet, maybe I’ve looked for the grandiose,

the voice within is a quiet voice.

The voice within has always told me the same story.

This story of self…the unerring story,

the story of simplicity.

I’m listening now to the voice within,

actually sitting without speaking…being silent.

This silence is compelling me to listen,

now I hear the voice within.

Now the rhythm can be felt,

it feels like self.

I want to trust this rhythm -

that speaks quietly when I listen.
